Paul Borja is Executive Vice President and Senior Deputy General Counsel of Flagstar Bank. In his role, he oversees corporate governance and securities law matters, human resources, commercial banking, asset sales and real estate matters. He has worked in the banking industry for more than 35 years, initially as a CPA with a Big Four accounting firm, and then as a lawyer in private practice in Washington DC working on initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory advice, and tax and federal securities law matters with banks and thrifts across the nation. Prior to assuming his current role, he served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of the Bank from 2005 until August 2014.
Paul received his BBA from the University of Notre Dame, his Juris Doctor from George Washington University Law School, and his Masters in Tax Law from Georgetown University Law School.
His board affiliations include past service on the board of directors of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis and vice chairman of its finance committee. He currently serves as a trustee with the Roeper School in Bloomfield Hills and Birmingham.
